I've lived in Winterbourne Stoke for over 30 years and raised 3 kids, 7 dogs and various other animals here.  I love the village and want to ensure it has a bright future.  I'm an iconclast who doesn't suffer fools gladly. Sadly there are way too many fools around these days; especially in Westminster

 

As a village, we faced a lot of challenges as we entered the 2020s.  Not least, COVID and the huge and once-in-a-generation decision as to whether we, and the World Heritage Site to our east, got a bypass, or whether we continued to suffer the nightmare of traffic on the A303 and the rat -running on local roads

In 2024, the UK elected Keir Starmer's Labour government and the plans for the A303 Stonehenge to Berwick Down Scheme were abandoned by Chancellor Rachel Reeves as one of her first acts.

The purpose of this blog is twofold.  To provide a source of information about the village and how we and our neighbours move forward with the traffic hell we live with.  In both cases, the intention is to do so with 20/20 clarity.
